Sewing Classes Covid-19 Update
We are now offering our sewing classes
Classes are limited to a maximum of 4 persons
– Each workstation is separate from the others
– Cleaning is performed regularly before and after each session
– Face masks are mandatory
– Registration is required
Note: not all classes will be offered at the same time, so please check the class schedule or contact us.
We offer a full range of sewing classes to suit all levels – beginner, intermediate and advanced classes.
Class sizes will vary and we want you to get the most out of your classes. We closely work with our students at their own pace. There is no rush to move on to the next lesson as we want our students to be masterful and comfortable before moving on. We will not take off the training wheels and let you fall!
All sewing classes are three hours per session.
Sewing Class Types
Please view the detailed description of what is covered in our classes which are based on the skill level of each individual and how one can progress from one level to the next.
How to register
Please contact us to register for a course. As we are currently limited to very small classes and schedules, we are flexible in accommodating our students but it is necessary to discuss the options with us.
As things normalize we will be posting a more formal schedule as well as the ability to register and pay on line.
Due to the current conditions we are not able to post a schedule of classes at this time. Please contact us for the current class schedule.
This pricing table is for one class/session of 3 hours in duration. We reserve the right to change the pricing without notice and at our discretion. Please click on the link to see the topics covered in each session.
Cost per Class
Cost per class will vary on the class size, skill level and project focus.
Note that the price of materials and supplies are not included for projects.
Class/Workshop Cancellation / Refund Policy
100% of the class/workshop cost is non refundable. Should Make Sew Create cancel a class or workshop there will, however, be a full refund.
Should you have to cancel your enrollment in a class/workshop we require a minimum notice of 48 hours before the start date of the class that you will be unable to attend.
– If you have given us the proper notice, then 100% of the fee you paid can be used as a credit toward future class/workshops
– Credits are valid for 1 year from the date of the the class/workshop cancellation
If you cancel within the 48 hour window but prior to the class start, there will be a $25 fee. We will do our best, in this case, to schedule one make-up class, when necessary, but it may not be possible in every circumstance. In either case there will be no refund.
There will be no refunds or store credits for students who drop out or do not show up for their class/workshop.
Please note that it is your responsibility to attend your classes and arrive on time.
Which Sewing Machine Will I be Using in Class?
As each sewing machine and manufacturer have different complexity of machines, learning on your own machine is the best way to get up and sewing quickly. If you have your own sewing machine and, if feasible, please bring it along to your class so that you can learn how to use the functions specific to your machine in class and bring them home to practice.
We do have different models in our classes so if you do not yet have one or plan on upgrading you can use ours in the interim.
